AIESEC

It’s up to you

We had the AIESEC induction day on 16th, June. It was my first experience at AIESEC and it was lot of fun. AIESEC is the world’s largest student organization, with over 22,000 members. The vision of AIESEC is

“Peace and Fulfillment of Humankind’s Potential”

The name AIESEC is an abbreviation of “Association Internationale des Etudiants en Sciences Economiques et Commerciales”, which they no longer use.

The induction day

It was a day full of fun, starting with an out-door activity to get to know each other around 9 o’clock in the morning, and a quick rap-up around 5:30 in the evening to finish the program.

We learned some nice roll-calls and a few signs used by AIESECians. They also had an activity about mind mapping, and it’s importance. There was also a speech about PBOX – Project based on exchange.

There were three speeches from corporations who have partnered with AIESEC in Sri Lanka. First one was from an HR manager of Millenium IT, who discussed about what they expect from employees. The second and third speeches was about Holcim and sustainable development.
